What's it mean when the hourglass is permanently up? It's there whether music is playing, not playing, fast forard, skip etc. Had to reboot to get it off.

It's bored with your choice of music?

Maybe it's telling him that the sands of time are running out? <cue spooky music>

I have had mine freeze a few times. Music stops playing though. And the hour glass hangs around. A time or two when it has happened it wasn't any better after a reboot. Still get stuck looking through the menus.

sorry, couldn't resist. I have no clue. Nor do I know what the problem may be.

I had this happen today! I did the old "down three times" to play my entire collection and the hourglass stayed up but the music played. All the buttons worked when it happened to me, but the display stayed on the hourglass. I even switched to the tuner and back to the player but the display was frozen. Odd behavior, and I couldn't reproduce it.

As a developer I absolutely HATE bugs like that!

You weren't seeing things, it happened to me a couple of minutes after reading your post. In my case it didn't play any music however (it was paused before selecting the root playlist). I had to do a power cycle to get back to normal.

The only thing that will get the hourglass off is rebooting!

The menus are "behind" it. Technically it is a outlined rectangle with an hourglass inside of it.

I was able to get it to happen one time only by selecting a song in emplode and clicking "play (replace)" -- the hourglass stuck! Didn't happen again after reboot though.
