I am going to install my 60 MKIIa into my 510 this weekend. I am greatly looking forward to having more flexability than the Neo Jukebox portable I am using now. the search features are the main argument FOR the Empeg VS the Neo (SSI) players)

Anyway, I will be posting pictures here in the future of my install into this car that is to turn thirty (30) at midnight tonight.

Datsun 510. What a great car. So, what year, what color?? I would have inherited my sister's unblemished powder-puff blue 2-door in 1974 is some jerk didn't t-bone her. (sniff! ...oh, my sister was fine, thanks...)

Empeg install? They were set for a knob radio, weren't they? Are you a purist? Good with a Sawzall?

I have a few. I have a "guards red" repainted 72 4 dr and a original orange '72 4 dr. I am planning on mounting under the dash with a custom mount and attaching the empeg to the cd controller on my Pioneer. Pioneer sells an adapter to allow RCA in on the unused cd controller pinout.

The Datsun 620 I have is going to have a cut dash for the din cage though...but at least I have the same head unit in both...

My install in the 510 has been delayed for now. I will probably begin when it warms up here in the states. I have been a little busy. I am working on a component install right now from a old cd case. We are replacing the front panel with a sheet of aluminum. All I have to do is figure out which power supply to use...

Well, I finally installed the Empeg in my 510. Boy that was pretty easy. Tap both power supplys, attach ground and voila, done. I have a Poineer with the CD-RB10 rca connector. This allows me to use RCA cables from the Empeg to the receiver. Pretty slick..

I installed under cigarette ashtray. It just fits.

Not sure how often you drive without your empeg but you may be interested in this.

I think i voted on that one... This insert would be perfect for this project. What i would like to do is tap the power and left/right channels and use a spare cradle for the Karma when I did not want to take the empeg...

Yes, I am but it will be next month before I can start. I'll do some research and get a price before I make a post about it. I'll probably start a new thread and take orders once I have everything finalized.
