Yeah, I went ahead and placed a 20GB order. My friend ordered another 60GB.

We're building an empeg group here at work. I have a 10GB, a 60GB on it's way, and the 20GB on order. Another friend has a 10GB And just ordered a 60GB. Three others have 20GB empegs on the way, and two more have ordered 20GB ones.

Any fleeces for me?

Just got a call from someone at SB, regarding my order of just a few minutes ago. 2 30 gig players. She said she will ship them out. If I end up getting everything I ordered I'll end up having 4 units... thats a few too many. Probly end up selling em.

I just got shipping confimation on the order for the 30 gig i placed on the 27th. Its looking pretty good fellas.

WTF do i need 3 of these things for!? sheesh... i must be insane. Well, my girlfriend just bought one of them, so now i have the original 12gb (upgraded to 42gb) empeg and my as yet unconfirmed order for a 60gb RioCar. I guess i'll just keep the empeg as a backup now. Sweeeeeet. This is nuts! We have them, now we don't, now we do stuff.... it's stressful. I missed this whole thing while on vacation, so i came back to 2 thousand new posts and the realization that i'd missed the price reduction and lost $600 on ordering the first backup i ordered (which my girlfriend bought off of me... so SHE lost $600 i guess.) Man that's painful. Ah well. Good luck to us all.

I wonder if I should order another one, and cancel my old order. It seems like new orders are getting priority over old ones - my order on the night of the 28th has yet to see movement. :(

Maybe they decided that a whole bunch of credit cards were invalid (as they seemed wont to do previously), they didn't contact those affected customers (as they were wont to do previously), and they put those units back in stock. Just a theory....

I placed an order for the 20gb unit on the 31th. My odds of receiving one is getting better by the day. My order had not moved thru the system yet. I wonder if they have more should I order a 10gb unit to seal the deal just in case? Also a tuner...who knows how many they have.

Hum...I ordered on the 26th and haven't hear a thing accept the three email verifications....bummer.

Well, in light of the recent stock-status change, I've now got a 20GB on order as well as a 10GB. Both were placed after Jan.1, so I may be SOL, but might as well try.

ACK -- in the last 10 minutes, my 10GB and 20GB orders (placed Jan.2 and Jan.3 respectively) switched to SHIPPABLE status.

I guess I'm not the only one busting a nut over this...

Yea, the 60 gig i ordered today switched to shippable as well, and i got the order confirmation and verify order emails.

I'm wondering if their stock system thinks someone is going to order a unit if they add it to their cart, then never remembers to put it back unless they cancel the cart. My system here showed order status for both my order of the 60gb, and an order that was unfinished with one of each player. I was just using that order to check status.

Either way, their setup is retarded. I could come up with something in asp that works better in 3 days, and im not all that smart! I had the same thing happen to me today when I ordered another one.

Rob, you sure are getting the extreme compliment here. People love your product SOOO much that they're willing to buy a still-relatively-expensive backup just in case one breaks.

WOW! I had writen the whole thing off (hence my "Thank You empeg and community" post). This is a great suprise! I used my excite e-mail address for some stupid reason, so I've never gotten any email verifications on my first order (Excite is trying to fix that). For a while, I thought Rob was getting our hopes up, but I just logged into SonicBlue's customer support and got a tracking number!!

Does anyone else think that empeg/RioCar's CAN'T ship without drama?? I think it is part of the whole experience. It wouldn't be the same if you could just go to the corner store and buy one. My first player was caught in customs forever. I had to sign and fax all these forms. One player was "held" in Kosovo IIRC. Weren't some thrown from airplanes? Etc etc.

Everyone that has a player should have a battle story to go with it! hehee

Has anyone else's order switched from "Has products pending shipment" to "pending shipment" to "Has products pending shipment?" Or is someone just toying with me through the database?

I have 2 orders, one ~8:00PM EST Dec 27 (10g) and one ~12:20am EST Dec 28 (20g.) Only the 20g order is fluctuating.
I want a 10, but I'll graciously take a 20 if I have to!!!
