With the huge number of people buying and using CD writers (like me), do you think it will ever be possible to make a MP3 player that plays MP3s of my many cds and fits in the dash nicely???

Yes, it's most definitely possible - and I'm sure someone will do one, too. However, we feel that the flexibility of a HDD based system just has too much going for it, so we're not looking at this possibility.

If this is what you are looking for then hold out for the Clarion AutoPC (Second Edition - not the current one as it doesn't play MP3 correctly). You can also purchase the MP3-ROM - though not as nice as the Empeg it is do-able. Though I think HDD's are the better solution.
