Anyone know how I can get a MKI docking sled. I finally (after 1.5 years) got my empeg installed in my car (been using it at home) and it appears the wires in the docking sled are bad. Lots of static and if you giggle a wire in the back if temporarily goes away only to come back about 2 minutes later.

Please let me know if anyone has one for sale or if empeg still has some somewhere.

Thanks.

John

AFAIK MkI sleds are gone, but David probably has a spare harness or two. Have you contacted him at [email protected] ?

Don't forget the Mk1 has differential ouputs: it sounds as if you haven't fitted the short earthing leads between the head unit and the amp that were supplied with the player. You need to earth these near the amp, so you should fit them at the amp end of your cabling, rather than near the empeg. Some people have also reported an improvement in noise isolation when the sled itself is earthed.
