Still harping on about IR...
Has anyone got a Philips Pronto (or any other universal remote) working with the Rio? I really don't want to add to the clutter of remotes at home.

I've got a Sony AV-2000 and it's programmed for the Rio, works fine. The 'HOLD BUTTON" functions don't seem to work, though, I think because the remote sends CODE-CODE-CODE-CODE instead of CO-----------------ODE when you hold the button down.

But for simple things (play, pause, skip, visual, info, etc.) it works fine in everyday use.

I am making the assumption that you had to 'teach' the Sony each of the buttons.
I don't suppose it would be high priority to build car based remotes into the transmitter code database.

Do long presses work when Hijack is installed? It tries to "help" some remotes of that type..

Didn't get a change to try it really, since I just got a new remote, the Phillips ProntoNEO. Very keen. It learned the Empeg codes easily and seems to do both short and long keypresses just fine...
