Not to bum everyone out... but today my fiance (I guess I should say ex fiance) decided to move to California (me in VA) with my two year old daughter who I pretty much love more than life itself.... (I'm OK with her decision because her only option for staying here is to room with her mother who is a totally evil woman, but her dad in CA is a very cool guy) I'm completely stuck here until I can find a job in CA sell my house and move all my crap out there (pain in the arse!) Basically I'm totally bummed about it am looking for input on the most depressing songs of all time... I'm completely burnt out on the cure.... any other ideas?
Please excuse spelling as I'm completely liquored up at the moment....

I like to listen to Eric Clapton's Old Love from the Unplugged cd. It has special meaning for me. Course I have a playlist full of sad depressing songs.

It's an instrumental, but the title matches the music, I guess you have to hear it to understand:
Steve Morse- "4 Minutes to Live" from the album "StressFest".

Wow.... if things keep going this way I'm probably going to hit the bottom of this bottle...
Interesting story I never was a scotch drinker til I went to Ireland with my ex... I went to a liquor store in Dublin and asked the old guy behind the counter for a good decent priced bottle of scotch (for a friend) so he gave me a bottle of "The Famous Grouse" which I'm sure is not a great bottle of scotch.... but the old guy was so cool, I've been drinking it ever since... (well "ever since" meaning when I want to get smashed which is really only when I'm going through a hard time)
I just realized that this story is probably intersting to absolutely nobody... Oh well forgive me I'm smashed!

I am probably part of a very small minority here who listens to country, but if you would be willing to give it a listen, I think George Strait - Today My World Slipped Away can be pretty depressing.

Yup, you're right - the Famous Grouse is a good cheap export whisky, if you get the chance to try some of the more revered whiskies, I would heartily recommend it one of these-
Highland Park - possibly the smoothest whisky in existence
Bruichladdich - a pleasant peaty Islay malt
Macallan - mmmmmm
Hope all works out for you.

I could recommend almost anything by Gene, although most people have never heard of them. IMHO they were the greatest band to never quite make it and they are without a doubt my favorite. Listening to them helped me deal with the death of a friend whilst I was at university.

Drink a tall glass of cold milk!
It's what one of my brothers told me after I got drunk for the first time After I did I wondered why he started laughing, I never took his advice again.

I suppose since your suffering from a hangover, you don't have need for this anymore, but ...
David Allen Coe - Would you lay with me
Is fairly depressing, which is the only time I listen to it.

What about Glenmorangie? <sp?> While in the duty free at Heathrow I was looking for a good bottle of scotch not available in the States. The "scotch sales rep" for lack of a better title, got me smashed on samples at 10AM and got me to buy a bottle of Glenmorangie. Not being a regular scotch drinker, I know nothing about brands, so I've been wondering how good it was... I got really drunk

Network admin/software integrator.... network monitoring... we do a lot where I'm at now... but 5 years experience in networking.... I can shoot you a resume? I have a "secret" level clearance if that helps... And really anywhere in driving distance would be great!

Some early stuff by Collective Soul (from the 2nd and Disciplined Breakdown albums) bumms me right out...reminds me of the time in my life when I was with my first real true love, who is long, long gone now...

If your company has worldwide gateways/proxies you could possibly (manually) configure your browser to use a different one.
E.g. I have found from experience that the UK National Lottery is blocked by the 'local' gateway but if I manually configure to one in the US I get through - are they so worried about employees checking their tickets during working hours and telling the boss to poke it?!

Any Don McClean song other than American Pie. Actually they're painfully bad _and_ depressing, except perhaps Vincent, that one's just depressing.
-Zeke
Oh yeah: Any n'sync song. They make me want to shoot myself (less painful than listening)

Well I'm in one of those moods tonight myself. I'm listening to Puff(The Magic Dragon) by Peter, Paul and Mary. Dumb song but it makes me cry every time I hear it. Some Simon and Garfunkel does it for me too like The Dangling Conversation. Hope you're feeling better tonight. Maybe I need to get drunk myself
