Uhm... Read the FAQ(s)!!!!!
Just for now... Use Hyperterminal that comes with Windoze, assuming you have Win9x or higher.

David,

You should have Hyperterminal on Windows, Accessories/Comms/Hyperterm.

If you haven't got it, you can get it from:

http://www.hilgraeve.com

You should use 115k 8N1 no handshaking to connect.

BTW, the image link on the Hyperterminal setup is broken. Apparently the bbs is trying to bold and italicise the file name.

It shows up as: http://empeg.comms.net/files/12-14202-%3Cb%3E%3Ci%3Ehyperterm%3C/i%3E%3C/b%3Einal.gif in Opera, and http://empeg.comms.net/files/12-14202-hyperterminal.gif in IE.

It should be: http://empeg.comms.net/files/12-14202-hyperterminal.gif

The only reason the link is getting bolded and italic'ed is because you called up the post from within a search screen. The search results try to bold/italic the search terms you typed into the search box. The BBS isn't smart enough to know that it shouldn't b/i the contents of hyperlinks.

Calling up the post normally (from the parent FAQ screen) allows the image to work correctly.

This has been an existing bug in the BBS software for as long as it's been around. There is nothing we can do about it, as far as I know. If you want to go report it to WWWthreads, you're welcome to, I think I already tried that. And besides, the one year of upgrades we paid for has run out, so even if they did fix that particular bug we wouldn't get the fix.

Maybe it's time for another PayPal donation? Only if there are significant fixes/features, though.

Right, and the bugs we've been specifically complaining about (the one reported in this thread as well as the Unread Marks messing up occasionally) haven't, to my knowledge, been fixed in recent versions of wwwthreads. If anyone can show me otherwise, though, I'll be the first to pony up.

You're right. I forgot I searched for it. It was just open in one of my Opera windows. Sorry about that.
