I recently recieved my mk2 and looking for some tips. How do I install a new boot logo? Can I make my own? Also, my friend has a lot of new visuals on hers, how can i get them on mine? Is there a download file with new visuals somewhere? Thanks in advance

Hi,

Congrats on your new toy. Take a few min to read through the faq at http://www.riocar.org and you will find the answers to your questions. Your friend must be running a beta version of the software which has bugs and may not be as stable and what your player came with, so I would recommend loading up all your music before you try it.

Visualisations are (still) not 'pluggable', they are integral part of the player executable, but each new version has more and more of them.

BTW, I pesonally don't have that many problems with new betas, but it would still be a good idea to become familiar with 1.03 first and finish initial loading of the player before experimenting, but then do give betas a try. They are safe (in the worst case they don't work in some aspect; they never damage the music - so far ), and it is easy do downgrade to a stable version if you change your mind.

You used 'her' for your friend - nice, we have so few ladies on this BBS (actually, none currently active, and I think a grand total of three or so).

Wellcome!
