I'm sure it's been discussed, and I've searched the FAQ and the boards, but came up empty so far.

How do I switch from getting the Rio logo to Tony's waving penguin logo during boot up? I see an area in Tony's logo editor to specify type of empeg, but don't see how to change the logo type...

Right here in the FAQ. Read the entire entry.

Oops. Missed that when I scanned the FAQ. Thanks.

You can change which company logo appears whenever you like. For instance, if you are running version 2.0 and want to change your Rio player to show the empeg's "waving Tux" animation, select the "I have an empeg" menu option in the Empeg Logo Editor software and then either send or delete a logo from the player.

So I'm forced to send or delete a logo in order to make the change? What if I don't want to send a logo or have one on there to delete?

Can I just switch to the waving tux logo?

Sorry I'm still not clear, what should I delete? The Rio logo?

No, delete the non-existent custom logo. If it *does* exist, send it again. (Tony's program does not have stand-alone 'change from Rio logo animation to waving penguin' operation, so you have to do something else; dummy delete of custom static logo will do.)

In case Bonzi's reply didn't get you going...

Select from the file menu "I have an empeg car player".
Select from the file menu "Delete logos from player".

Done.

I thought I was alone in this.
I too have received this error when I use the 'My Programs' link however strangely enough if I use the desktop shortcut icon it works fine. I've become used to this so it's no problem for me.

It won't work for me no matter how I open it. Any ideas?

Just for the heck of it, try placing all the logo editor files in a folder where the path does not contain any spaces. For example "C:\logoedit" instead of a subfolder of Program Files. Let me know if that fixes the problem.

I thought I took care of all instances where long filenames were a problem, but perhaps there's something I didn't catch and I have to look more closely.

God knows! Windows is such a piece of crap that it can't even handle its own filesystem properly?!? Wonderful!

Honestly, I can't see how the file names or directory location could screw up logo editor. Mine is in a long-file-name directory and I don't have any problems running it.

I'd be curious to know how to induce the bug so I can fix it in the software. But I can't get it to fail.

So it's not even wholly deterministic. Even better!
