Hi,
I'm new at the board but a long time rmpeg fan. IHowever i have a problem that is driving me nuts... it sems my oriiginal hard drive failed. perfect opportunity to upgrade i thought...
however, before i even took the player apart, it stopped powering up (home or car). this is a problem that had happend before but just cured itself (i think it may have had something to do with the home power adaptor. at times it would power up but at others without any clear connection it would not power up at all). either way, i thouht it was the hard drive creating the problem but the new one does not remedy the situation.

i tried the FAQ but could not find anything relating to this specific problem.

used search but nothing comes up for power up or turn on...
can someone with some knowledge/experince please help me out???

if you have been into the empeg and are happy try taking off the IDE cable from the board and see what happens.

I did remove the IDE cable but it still didn't power up...

how can i make sure it is a power supply problem from the home adapter?

Try another adaptor. Radio Shack probably has some with the same specs.
