What is the recommended number of meg/gig of music to be uploaded to the player (Freshly reformatted and clean drives)? I have a total of about 25 gig that I could put on, and my combined drives are 30 gig (a 20 and a 10).
Thanks (and thanks to everyone on their assistance with my recent player problems!

Answer is in the usual place.

Since you've got so much, though, you could probably do larger chunks than that recommends. The point is to have less backtracking to do if something goes wrong.

From what I understand, he's resonably familiar with it.

I would like to add one comment, though. When rebuilding from drive upgrades, I have successfully sync'ed an entire player's worth of data (up to 200GB) in one very long sync session.

The only limitation I have found is based on the number of playlists. There appears to be a fixed amount of playlists that can be uploaded before emplode (or the player, I never bothered to figure out which) crashes. You may want to batch your playlists, especially if you are doing a lot of them at one time. But I have not seen a limit with the number of mp3 files you can send at one time.

Granted, small batches are always better in case something goes wrong. But if you want to do a "set it and forget it" type of upload, you can.

I routinely make 30-40GB syncs on my 140GB player with no problems.
