Hijack v445 is now available.

New in this version:

Several new "virtual" button codes have been added. These don't exist on the remotes (thus, the term "virtual"), but they can easily be assigned to buttons using Hijack's ir_translate functionality. Some of these functions are also now on the revamped PopUp0 menu.
  • SaveSrc -- Save current sound source internally (AM,FM,PCM,AUX).
  • SaveAux -- Save current source, and then switch to AUX.
  • RestoreSrc -- Switch back to saved sound source.
These new entries may be most useful when mapped to the extmute_on and extmute_off functions, like this (in config.ini):
    [hijack]
    extmute_on=SaveAux
    extmute_off=RestoreSrc
As a bonus effect of implementing the above functionality, we also now have:
  • AM -- Switch to AM Radio.
  • FM -- Switch to FM Radio.
And finally, the number of choices in the built-in Popup0 menu (short-button press, if enabled) has been expanded from 8 to 16. This makes many more functions usable without needing a remote control.

Side-Effects: Your existing Hijack Knob Press Redefinition settings (home/car) will need to be reset for use with this release, from the Hijack Menu. Also, I am accepting suggestions for further additions to that menu, since it now has an extra 8 unused slots..

Cheers

AM Radio haters (you know who you are.. ) may want to take advantage of these new codes to eliminate AM from their remote controls, like this:

    [ir_translate]
    Tuner=FM

Rather than bump an old thread and cause minor confusion, I wanted to thank you for the feature in 444 that increases the gain of the AUX input. I use this a lot for my portable AM/FM radio and it certainly has helped.

I suppose it could be, but there's no API that exposes it in such a fashion.

Note to Self: When using a new hijack feature, it's important to not only change the config.ini, but to update hijack to the new version.

I'll try this out again tonight.
