The BreakOut Game competition at the Cambridge Meet did seem to get everyone's attention, despite being held rather late in the afternoon. Things actually got pretty intense watching the competitors on the video monitor, waiting to see who would beat Rory's early high score (nobody did!).

So, to help everyone get ready for next year's competition, Hijack v463 is now available, with the BreakOut game score reporting feature now included in the stock Hijack kernel.

So, warm up those fingers, and wear out those rotary encoders!

Cheers

Mark

Who else thinks that Mark has stock piled the world's remaining supplies of Empeg rotary encoder before releasing this

Hm, but you can only do SO well in Breakout. If we practice and have a few board clearing contestants, it'll be a tough competition. Well, if you count the number of moves like you said, lowest wins. It will become more of an art form than a game.

Heh.. and there's also the pressure of competing in front of a crowd -- nobody aced the competition this year..

And who said the game will be "breakout" at next year's meet.. ?

Heh - only missed one point, sadly by being too damn cocky on that last move. I'm up for it:-) Or should we go for emptris? Or how about a collection of all the empeg games!

My votes:

I could've bought a new empeg with all the quarters I dumped into the arcades back in the 80's.
