I checked the empeg store and tried to find a tuner but I didn't. In the catalog it's said that they are not available now but you can order one. But in the accessoires I couldn't find a tuner to put it into the basket. - Just wondering.

The second thing is that I thought the Mk2 has an ISO-connector. In the store you can get a USA-plug, European-Plug, UK-Plug and other (=IEC). What are the differences? Are there maybe some pic's of the plugs? Or is there an ISO connector for Europe and a different ISO-connector for the USA and the UK?

The 12 GB model is 810ukp. The 18 GB model is 970ukp. The 6 GB Disk is 150ukp. If you order a 12 gig plus 6 gig disk you've got a 18 gig for 960ukp, so 10ukp of.. I know it's only 10ukp. I'm only wondering about this.

The plug is probably referring to the home power adaptor.
The real 18 gig empeg has 1 drive, not 2 (better for later expansion)
and I think it's 810 ukp not dollars...

OK - I've fixed that $-thing

You're right - expansion has to be thought about...

> I checked the empeg store and tried to find a tuner but I didn't.

From the invitation email:

"You do not need to order a carry case or tuner - if you do so this will be considered in ADDITION to your free product and will be charged for."

The tuners aren't on the site because I don't have a cased product to photograph yet, but it doesn't matter because everyone invited to order so far will get a free tuner anyway. I can't think of any reason you would want two tuners.

> The second thing is that I thought the Mk2 has an ISO-connector

From the online catalogue:

"Please specify screen colour and mains plug required. If you choose IEC Plug you will require an IEC power cable (the type used by most PC's)."

The plug refers to the mains plug for the AC adapter. The ISO connector is standard throughout the world, and if your car doesn't have one you can buy an adapter or cut it off (the wires are labelled for this reason).

Yes, you can make a slight saving - but it would be a false economy. Having a spare drive bay is very useful for future expansion, otherwise you'll have to throw away your 6Gb disk (and copying the music off of it first would be quite a pain).

Ahhh. Everything clear now. I didn't get an invitation so I couldn't know.

Well, I dunno... assuming the tuner is -- as described previous -- a box that atttaches to the cable pack and goes up under the dashboard... I'll go out on a limb and say "So I can also order a 2nd car-mount and put the 2nd car-mount and 2nd tuner in my 2nd car"?

Just .. I dunno... guessing.

How easy (or difficult) would it be to use a second tuner at home?
I assume a second car mount would be required for this built into a component box?

Yes, you'd need a second car mount.

There are cheaper and more convenient ways to receive radio at home. Of course, if and when we release a digital radio module, that's a different matter :-)

Natch, but I want to use the least number of boxes to get the biggest amount of flexibilty. Maybe hi-tech minimalism ;-)

and of course, looking forward to digital radio too.
