From ZDNet:

IBM will announce two versions of its Travelstar notebook drives, the 60GH and the 40GN. The Travelstar 60GH drive can store up to 60GB of data and costs $429. The Travelstar 40GN drive stores up to 40GB and costs $225. Other capacities for the GN drive include 30GB for $199, 20GB for $139 and 10GB for $109. The Travelstar drives are available now, according to IBM.

Nothing on IBM's storage site yet. They do have, however, a story about a portable MP3 player from e.Digital using IBM's MicroDrive and voice recognition technology. (BTW, the unit with a 1GB MicroDrive retails for $449. What did we say, empeg is expensive?)

Great news...with another top product in the range (the 60gig), I expect price of the the 48gigs to drop...I guess I'll wait another month or two before buying that second one.

The new drives don't show up yet on the mobile drives list, but there is news about them on the IBM site : here On the same page there"s a link to the .pdf files with all the info you'll need on the drives.

(on that page there's also mention of the first 3.5" 7200rpm 120gig (!) desktop IDE drive...WOW!)
