I want to take the Albums view and copy it into a playlist called Album. I made the playlist, highlighted all the items in the Albums View, then dragged them into the playlist. Not only did it take a minute or more to finish, but in the playlist was all the tunes, not Albums. Is this supposed to work this way? How do I get all my Albums into that playlist without having to go through each Artist playlist and copy those?

If you have saved your mp3 in a typical artist>album directory structure on your pc, then all you need to do is drag the parent directory from windows explorer onto the playlist icon in emplode. This will recreate the branch structure of your pc ont your head unit. So on mine, as well as customised playlists, I have playlistings set up as artist, and nested underneath that are the album names.

Yes I have that structure but what I want to do is take the existing ones on my EMPEG and make a new playlist called Album and have all the albums under it. I want this so I can play random albums.

Ditto, I could have used this feature last night.

I had accidently deleted (and synced) all of my playlists with emptool, so I fired up Emplode, and the music was still all there (all 16GB of it), but no playlists. I figured I should have been able to just drag the Albums into a newly created playlist to get most of it back without the BIG DOWNLOAD, but ... arghh!

Somebody fix this, please!

Yes. However, since this is really counter-intuitive behaviour, I'll fix it eventually. Of course, once the car player acquires soup menus itself, you won't need to do this, anyway.

True but since I have not seen the soup menus on the player yet...
