The Gist:

Blah Blah, SonicBlue the company that made digital entertainment its raison d'etre, comes out with a CD player with a hard drive, [blah blah], which is nothing new [however] Sonic Blue has added [some] features that may give the recording industry a mild heart attack....

Otherwise a very mild review.

They make it sound like it's the end of the recording industry. Nothing you can't do already with a music ripper, mp3 encoder and home network! I guess they're afraid that the "average Joe" will get into the ripping and sharing act.

Of course, there is nothing you *can't* do given the knowledge and the tools. It's only when the knowledge for entry is abbreviated with the introduction of more powerful tools that a large enough audience gets the attention of the music industry..
