I've just got my empeg and love it. I cheated with the installation and used a fm modulator into my exusting Renualt Laguna setup.

However, what I would prefer, is to have the output of the Laguna head unit go into the aux of the empeg. The Laguna unit (Philips made) is a radio/single cd unit and has no obvious line out. Is there anyway, I can take the speaker out and put that into AUX? maybe with a convertor or something?

Yes, there are speaker-level-to-line-level converter boxes that you can get from places like Crutchfield.

Remember, though, that the empeg does not have speaker level outputs, so you would ALSO need to buy an external amplifier and install it as well if you did it that way.

Thanks for that Tony.

I did play to get an amp too. And new speakers, as I doubt the builtin speakers could really handle an amp.

Your other option (though less sound quality) is to just get a new headdeck that has pre-amped outputs so you would avoid needing an amp. This could be a lot cheaper than getting a new amp and a converter.
