Greetings..

Maybe Mike can answer this one: I just added some new music to my RIO, and I was hoping the tunes would automatically end up withing the soups I created in Jemplode. However, they are not there. I synced several times. Am I doing something wrong, or do I have to recreate the soup and the rules each time I update music?

Thanks
-Ted

Did you use jemplode to upload the new songs ? It works fine for me I just add the new tracks and they are added to the soups automatically.

both should work ... just to be completely sure, what's the build number that's listed in the title bar?

What works for me? I select one of the soups (not under the playlist section) then go to the edit menu and add songs (or song directory). The soups automatically update and I sync. Try that.

Hi Mike,

I'm using version 44. I am enclosing 2 screenshots. the first is the jemplode screen. this is what i do:

my music is sorted by artist/album/song.mp3.

i take the entire folder and drop it on the "albums" playlists. i am hoping to get my "by artist" and "favs" playlists automatically updated. i the 2nd enclosure is the properties page of the "favs" playlist. it has my rules in the tag of what i want included in that list.

let me know if you have any ideas.

thanks

Just to make sure -- did you create that Favs soup using the Add Soup Playlist menu item, or did you create it "by hand" by setting the soup tag?

Also -- I can't see the full soup definition -- can you copy/paste from the advanced tags view so I can see what the search is?

Can you do a test, too? With the Favs soup hooked up, go and modify the tags of another song that isn't currently doesn't match the criteria of the soup and change them so they do. This _should_ cause the tune to appear in the soup in the appropriate place (I did this on 45 and it works). This will narrow down whether it's an import issue or a soup matching issue.

Hi mike,

I believe I created the soup from the menus, but I might have edited the crieteria by hand afterwards (dont remeber). i will try your suggestions when I get back home tonite: for changing the tags, you're suggesting that I change the artist of a tune for example such that it would end up in "favs"? (some of the filtering excludes certain artists).

thanks for all of your help... you've developed a great tool!

also, i meant to ask you: are you planning on adding rsync-like functionality in the next few months? im debating whetere to install rsync and the mp3tofid tool.

thanks
