I have a 60 gig hd on my player and I deleted many albums still says only 328 mb free? I tried refreshing etc... I just hit Delete playlists as i mad playlists ie) MEtal/Metallica/One.mp3 What have i done wrong?? EMPLOAD says 328mb free when i know there should be like 10 gigs!

Assuming everything else in Emplode works, are you sure you're really deleting the songs as well? Just deleting playlists doesn't delete the actual tracks.

Emplode normally prompts if you want to delete the tracks as well. You have sync'd after editing in Emplode, right?

Sorry if I'm stating he obvious, but from personal experience I know it is the obvious most of the time with me being the stupid one .

I am using Empload 2.0 and using the Ethernet Cable to do it. When I check the other lists ie) Artists etc.. all the old artists are listed.. so I would assume that it does not delete them all when i hit delete from a playlist how do i do it then by band name or album completely??

Well, I just checked if I go into Artists and delete it frees room, I must have just deleted playlists thats all? is there a way to delete the songs/albums i deleted from the playlists? or is it all manual.. if so how can i clean the entire unit off? and start ummm alll over!

Go into the "soup views" (artists, albums, whatever) and find the tracks there. Those are the "real" tracks. The ones in the Playlists tree are just pointers to your tracks.

In recent emplode versions, I think it gives you the option to "really delete" the files when you delete them from the playlist view, also.

YEa thats it I never checked that box.. boy I am dumb.. Only thing is now i have no clue how to delete them.. cause some artists are on mixed cds etc.. wow.. i think i will have to start over, unless there is a way to say delete the corresponding songs to the playlists i deleted?

Go to the Search tab, and type in "refs = 0" as an advanced query (without the quotes). This will give you a list of the tracks that are no longer referenced by playlists -- i.e. the ones you were trying to delete before.

You can then just delete these. This will mean that you now have left only those tracks that are still in playlists.

And remember to check that box in future. It's almost always the right answer.
