MKII (not a) 2.0b13+hijack (recent version, not latest though)

Ok, without the tuner plugged in, the empeg works fine.

When I got the tuner, I hooked it up, and it turned out the purple wire, which appears to supply power was loose. (But the tuner did work intermitently) This morning I got around to fixing it, and now the red light stays on solid when powered up. However, I have problems with the empeg locking up when I boot with the tuner plugged in. It worked ok this afternoon, but tonight on my way home, I had to yank the sled out and unplug the tuner again to get the empeg to boot. I repeated a few times in the car, and any time the tuner is plugged in, it hangs on "starting audio". I tried turning off restore visuals, and it still has issues.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, something I'm doing wrong, or some hijack issue. I'll try upgrading hijack, and some more troubleshooting variations tomorrow morning.

I'd check for more loose wires on the docking connector. You've already said you knew that one of them was loose. Now check all the others. Click here.

I had a problem with my first empeg. The hang on 'starting audio' was a fault with the DSP chip, sadly it was fatal. When I sent the unit back to support, it came back with a different serial number, if you know what I mean.

Yah that's what I noticed when I checked it, in addition to the other loose connector. I'll pull it out this week and solder the connections.

Hopefully I'll be able to listen to the radio soon. (I'm friends with some local DJs, otherwise I'd be happy with mp3s)

Sorry, I may have added to the confusion, my problem was pre-tuner. My original unit used to lock up as soon as the aux in was selected. Once the power was cycled the unit would hang when it got to 'Starting Audio', hence my interest in the post. From that point, only a new upload of firmware would actually make it work again.

I'll find my original post and get the serial log and show where the problem. Because he's having trouble with the tuner, I suspect it's the same problem.

Note the bit in bold, it's the same chip that does the aux in as well as the input for the tuner.

I'd do a serial log and see if the same error appears.

- I can make the empeg boot if I unplug the tuner (hasn't locked up in the past day or so) never needed to flash it.
- If I wiggle the wires going into the sled, it works, I can't figure out exactly which is loose.
- When there's 'no audio' you can still hear the radio, it's just faint.

So it looks like it's a combination of the loose wire on the tuner connector (fixed) and a flaky connection on the sled (up next). I need 30 hours in a day.
