Is the Rio model number of the Mk2, RD100 as well? Or is it something different to that of the Mk2a?

Tony hasn't FAQ'd it :P

The RioCar is the Mk2a, but it was never called this officially.
empeg had both a Mk1 and a Mk2.

IIRC, the RD100 was the 10GB model of the RioCar. Similar numbers were used to distinguish the capacity, but all were still considered RioCars (aka Mk2a).

Yea I know that. It's just that a lot of people just use "Mk2" by default when they are selling an Empeg, even though it is an Mk2a.
Sometimes they'll put the "RD100" model number there, so I was wondering if both the Mk2 versions had different "RD" numbers.

I thought the capacity was stated after the "RD100" designation, i.e.
RD100-10 for a 10gb player.. or is this not the case?

cheers,
Jaidev

Rio car =Mk2a= rd100(from what I can determine)
Link
I have a rio car and on the box it has RD100
The mk2 is an Empeg product.
The mk2a is a Rio product

Edit: Rats, beaten to the punch

Yeah, you're right on that, the RD100-20 was 20GB model for example. (Just noticed after my post).

For the record, all empegs are either Mk2 or Mk1 (and empeg is always lowercase ). RioCars are exclusively Mk2a. I guess all iPods are called iPods and only the model number specifies the capacity? Probably the same here.
