Do you have any shortcuts on the Empeg? Post them here!

If you are watching visuals and you don't like the fade effect which is currently active, press the CD button again and the vis resets and uses a different effect. I prefer the medium blur on Shapeshifter, so after one or two presses I can get it.

The menu items on the empeg player respond to the number keys as well as the >>| |<< keys. So if you want to turn off the player, instead of "*, >>, >>, >>, >>, Dnpp", you can do "*, 5, Dnpp". Three keystrokes instead of six. The number may change depending on which software release you're running, since the menu layout occasionally changes slightly.

I was so surprised when I saw this pointed out (elsewhere on the BBS).

(Yes, we know that you can hold the top button to turn off the unit. I'm just talking about when you want to use the remote- for instance if the player is out of your immediate reach.)

Paul H, please consider making this a forum, so this handy info does'nt get buried.

What do you think Tony?

Well, I think this BBS needs another forum like I need a hole in the head. And I'm not convinced that there's enough tricks n' tips to fill a whole forum. But what the hell...

Should there be a Tips and Tricks forum on this BBS?
Yes, I've got a lot of tips I could post there.
No, it would be a waste of space on the index page.
I thought that those who turned tricks didn't need to be tipped.

Tony, just asking for an easier way to archive this info, as I recently dont have the time to read all forums.

Right now I'm looking at over 600 new posts!

Hell, I haven't really had enough "quality" time with my empeg, and it is going on three weeks!

Wouldn't the simplest solution be to start a tips & tricks thread in the FAQ forum?

Hmm..what do you guys think about having a tips threads in the faq section? tony or myself would have to repost the tips there, but it might be a good compromise..

Should tips be reposted under a single thread in the FAQ section?
Sounds great, do it!
There aren't enough tips to do that; save your breath...

Particularly if you can summarize the things found in the release notes -- it would save me having to learn the secret handshake!

Hey, this poll does not quite work. First time it 404ed with part of the text line (with markup) in the name of the .pl file. Second time it worked, but results were empty, and back button from results page 404ed vith empty script name.

Anyway, I would like to see this, and Doug's suggestion about summatizing release notes is also great.

Cheers!
