I need to sell my Canon D60 Digital SLR camera. 8 months old, still under warranty, i have all original boxes, manuals, and also including a 512 mb IBM microdrive with pcmcia card reader. Make me an offer, email me at steveh at nac dot net, or just respond to this post. I'm looking to sell it asap and wanted to post here and give you guys a chance before i post to ebay and have to deal with that hassle. I also have a 28-105 sigma lense, so this baby would be ready to go out of the box!

Wow, this is for professionals, not an newbie like me. :-(

On a seperate note, thanks for the empeg video you made a few years ago, being able to see it work was a major factor in my buying decision.

You can get a new Canon 10D for about that amount (admittedly without a lens and card) but I expect you have a good reason for knowing that already

Yeah.. if you can find a place that has one in stock.. I've heard horror stories about people not getting their 10D after months and months of waiting.

True, i will shoot high, and see what i get. I'm just asking for offers before i put it on ebay. I know i can get close to that on ebay with the lens and 512 drive.

No one has been waiting "months and months" for a 10D. It was only announced in March and didn't start shipping until just over a month ago.

Some people did wait a long time for the D60s, but Canon seem to have judged the demand of the 10D pretty well. They even appear to have got it right in the UK, there are plenty of places with the 10D available from stock still.

ohh ok. maybe I was confusing the stories with the D60 or maybe I was confusing it with my own situtation where I'm waiting months and months to save up the money to buy one...

It would kind of overlap with my 24-85mm...

My next lens will probably be the 20mm and then probably the 75-300mm IS (assuming it doesn't feel as cheap as some of the "L" addicts say when I try it).

Then my lens acquiscions will wait until I'm good enough to justify the expense an "L" or two. Need to build up the muscles in my arms as well !

All the lenses will have to wait until I get some work though. Thanks for the advice on the 24-85 Mark, I am very happy with it and suspect I would have missed the wide end on the 28-135.

Good. The 20mm will be wider, of course, but you might even consider something like a 16 or 14mm from a secondary brand. Since the 10D only uses the middle of the image circle, cheap lenses generally perform better with it than their film-based ratings would suggest.

Cheers

Sound like a good idea. I was thinking about whether I should look at one of the Sigma zooms that start at 16/17 or whatever.

The issue about using only the centre of the lens has one problem. In three years time I suspect there might be an affordable full frame Canon to buy, maybe.

But that's also an issue with buying a 10D today. So long as the lens and camera stay together, no big deal. ...
