Well, I expect that everybody hopes that you will *really* enjoy your tuner.

Just got the player ( Brand New 40Gb ) yesterday from www.carplayer.com. Now somewhere in the continent of the US mail, floats my new tuner. Worth EVERY penny I paid and more. Ordered 2 sleeves, 2 remotes, and a power supply. Man I never thought I'd find a brand new player, yet a brand new player and a new tuner. How many people are going to be able to say that after today. empeg? new? and a tuner? I feel too fortunate... An audiophiles Dream come true. I think in the end I paid what it originally cost.. LOL. I used to think it was too expensive... now I know its the technology (Mr.Brown & his Dazzling DACs) and its unique configuiration that makes it priceless. We will never this a player like this for a LONG time.

This is so sad where was everyone when they were still making the empeg. It was too expensive then but now people are fighting for them.

I was the idiot waiting for more companies to take the strides like empeg and make hifi mp3 players. My optimistism caused me to strain finnancially to recover a new player & tuner, YET! I still paid LESS than what this damn thing retailed for 808 '4' the player 420 '4' the tuner = $1228 is alot less than 1699 and that doesn't include the tuner in the original price. This may be the end of the era for MP3 fidelity but technology and media constantly change and a new revolution is ALREADY on the rise. DVD Audio WILL replace the CD (at least it will for the audiophile, later the consumer will reap its rewards.) The ONLY media to date that competes with that of the studios reel 2 reel high fidelity recording system, a true test of todays speakers standards and harmonic reproduction.

Why do you say DVD audio will replace the CD for audiophiles?

why would you buy a tuner only to turn around and sell it?

I think Snapon was referring to a buy it now option on another tuner listed on ebay (not the one he bought). The buy it now was for $420 which is what he paid in an auction.
