Getting ready to upgrade 2 10 gig players and was wondering if anyone knew where the best deal is on 2.5" drives currently? Looking for 30gig or bigger.

These guys seem pretty cheap. $188 for a 48G IBM and $361 for a 60G

Thanks for the link, it's exactly what I was hoping for. This may be a dumb question, but why would I go with the 48 or the 60 when the dollar to gigs ratio of the 40 is a better deal? Is there something I should know about what kind of drives to use for my upgrade? I kinda thought any 2.5" drive would work.

There is no particular reason for getting the 48GB or 60GB ones apart from you get more space. They're sold at a premium anyway since they're the largest drives currently out. If you want to put 100GB-120GB of music on to the empeg then you'd need them.

It looks like there will be more competition on the the 60GB drives from Toshiba. Surprisingly, they are 9.5mm. My Toshiba notebook only takes that size. Looks like it's time for an upgrade.
