Greetings!

I have been watching ebay for empegs for a while now. I have seen a user by the handle rkaproudfoot sell a lot of empegs over the past month or so, but I have never seen anyone mention him, and he has a very low feedback rating (1). Has anyone on the board bought from him, and was it legit?

Note: I am not in the market for another player at the moment, but I don't want to see another scam occur either.

His one positive comment seems to be from another empeg that he sold. He has only had his eBay account since the day the empeg store closed, so my guess would be that he bought several after the price drop, before they sold out, and set up this eBay account just to sell them off.

As for his feedback rating, perhaps some of his customers weren't happy at having missed their chance from SONIC|blue and having to buy from him instead, and so they didn't leave any feedback. In my experience many users do not bother with feedback.

Greetings!

Quite likely. I just wanted to check, because he has sold at least 5 different ones that I have seen. I would rather post the query than have people getting ripped off.

Meanwhile, has there been any progress on that front?

If you look at the buyers, most of them have 0's or 1's next to their name too. They are probably just too new to the Ebay game to leave feedback yet. Several years ago when I first go on, I didn't know about feedback till about my 5th purchase.

You can bet that with an item this expensive, he'd have some negative feedback if he was ripping people off.

Hi empeggers out there!
As you might have noticed, I'm the last one on the list of buyers which made business with rkaproudfoot and I just filled out the feedback-form on ebay, got my new 60GB unit today...I just could not stand the idea of loosing my 38GB unit because of a harddisk failure, broken display, broken cpu or what ever might happen to my beloced empeg...it's good to rest assured...

Greetings
Michael

hi there. I'll probably be on here quite a bit in the future. It's going to be installed in a '93 Twin Turbo 300ZX. I'm planning to hook my Empeg up to my car's ECU to control timing, adjust fuel delivery, and control the limiters (speed and rev). Should be a fun project. Has anyone done that yet for any model of car?

This has been discussed, but I don't think anyone has a completed implementation of this kind of project yet.

Search the BBS on variations of "OBD2", "OBD-II", etc., for threads on this topic.

Actually, my car is OBD1. Should be a little easier.
