My Rio Car remote survived a trip through the washer and lived to tell the tale. No testing has been done on the dryer, nor is any future testing planned.

That's amazing. Usually water and electronics do not mix. Better make sure you dry the battery well.

Man, I've so far had three remotes that can't deal with one week of me using them... Maybe I'll send the next one that dies through the washer.

Sometimes, you have to threaten electronics to get them to behave... The remote is relatively well sealed, and as long as it dried out...

Were you able to get the replacement cable? Did you swap the drive location to get it working short term?

David mailed the replacement cable, but its not here yet. Probably not a chance until Tuesday or Wednesday. I did switch the cable connections and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the help. I'm enjoying my player for the first time as we speak....
