I guess Tivo must not have been selling too many home media options. Now it looks like we get the same features included in the monthly price. They stopped using the home media option name and now just list the features.

If only we DirecTiVo subscribers could get it.... Along with some of the other "new" features.

You can't get DirecTV in Minnesota? Canadians were (are?) getting it illegally; I can't imagine that you'd have a problem unless there's a big honkin' tree in the way or something.

I live in an apartment which is on the north side of the building. I just need to blow a hole in the building.

And for those of us that paid for the home media option, the 'just screwed' feeling is free!

I know, it was worth $50 to me at the time, but it kind of stings that I paid to be a beta tester.

Yeah I bet they will get a bunch of angry calls and emails. Did they add insult to injury by sending you the message on your tivo too.

At least you weren't one of the people that paid 70.00

At least your DTivo's are working! Mine decided to Green Screen on me a few days back and now i'm hosed. Running diagnostics on the discs as i type... but i already did that once to no avail. I'm going to increase the swap partition, and if that doesn't work it looks like i'll be trying to hunt down an image file for an HDVR2. Blah... the worst part is that if the Tivo dies so does your DirecTV.

Yeah, I don't have enough time or venom to bother calling. It just sucks.

Hey. At least you guys get new features. We're still stuck on v2.5.5 on series 1 hardware.

Yes, but your boxes are infinitely more hackable, giving you more feature options.

Have you hacked in more memory into your series 1?

Yeah. S1 has the "PCI" edge connector still so we can put the NIC inside. All the US hackers have moved onto S2 software however.

I may not be understanding the spirit of the thread. I have a series 1 sat-t60 that is running 3.# something. This is after I removed all of the "modifications" I had done to the unit.

In the UK only Thomson made a TiVo and it was a series 1 unit. The last software upgrade we got was to 2.5.5 and that was it. Thomson no longer make the TiVo in the UK and no other manufacturers have stepped forward.
