I know that quite a few people have changed their usernames since the release of the new BB. But now that means that I don't know who some people are anymore - especially if the avatar was changed along with the name. So, could we get a list of name changes so I can re-learn who everyone is?

Yeah, I agree. If you're not a daily reader then this new 'feature' has the possibility to destroy your understanding of who is who in this tight-knit community.

I would like to see 'formerly known as X' in peoples signatures for 90 days after a name change happens, and a permanent note in the profile. That would make name changes fairly painless.

Yeah, something like that, for a while anyway, until enough of us got to know who you were originally. 'Cause user number 1411 means jack shit to me.

The Meatballman thing was getting a bit old... I left my old avatar so people could still make the connection.

I switched mostly as a prank -- I was seduced by features! But I have repented! (just requested to go back to original). It hit me when I saw my borderline-vulgar new handle mentioned in another thread. I thought "What if my dear 95 year-old aunt is reading the BBS?"

And while some were no-brainers, I did find some other sig-shifting challenging.

Speaking of avatars... is that what your empeg is playing now? Or is that a Winamp trick?

It's actually what my iTunes is playing right now. The text on the image is parsed from here.

Here's a thread about it from back when I was setting it up.

That audioscrobbler site is pretty cool, btw.

Avitar? Now playing? Was the avitar different when this was posted so that the post had a different meaning? (ie: since when you change an avitar, it changes it on every post you've ever made) Or am I missing something? ... AudioScribbler is drawing your avitar?

Heh heh. Yeah, the avatar was different at the time of the post because I was playing something at the time so it said what I was playing. Audio scrobbler doesn't make the avatar, though. I render it on my server ever few minutes and while something is playing, that info is parsed from my audioscrobbler homepage and added to the avatar via imagemagik.
