I've been having a problem with FTP on my machine, but it doesn't seem to be related to my ISP or the site I'm working on or even the program I use.

Say I'm using CuteFTP and I'm uploading a bunch of files. I can get a bunch of them to upload, but after a little bit it'll just...stall...or something. Most of the time it's so that I have to close the program and start it up again. But then it just stalls again a little later.

This also seems independant of the amount of data. It could possibly be the number of files. I can upload one several MB file without too much trouble, but if I try to upload 500KB of about 100 files, that's when it seems to stall.

Any ideas?

You said it's independent of the program you use? So you've used something other than CuteFTP and gotten the same results? The reason I ask is that I had issues exactly like this with CuteFTP, and switching to SmartFTP solved the problems for me. This was an older version of CuteFTP, though, so it could have been something different than what you're seeing.

Yeah, I've ditched CuteFTP mostly because of this problem, but now it's creeping up in SmartFTP as well

ive noticed this problem on ftp servers written for the XBox that are not reporting errors correctly. it would stall, but not throw any errors. when i checked, i discovered that the hard disk was full.
