A friend of mine recently purchased this

It's 250 bucks, he likes it, but has a few issues with it (mostly UI related, some playback issues). It runs Debian linux, has anyone used this device? Tried to hack it up a bit? Any useful links for this thing? Any info I could give this guy would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It looks like it has a lot of potential !!

I'm watching this type of device closely, as it will have a fair bearing on the specs of a new PC I want to build.

WOW.

That actually looks really good. I am kinda disappointed that it has coax digital out instead of optical. Most receivers I see have far more optical inputs than coax.

Well from what I understand it looks really good on paper but the UI is really crappy.... But if it's running debian small things like possibly creating more cache (playback issues) and other small kinks could be worked out.

Run a Playstation2 with a SONY USB to Ethernet adapter and BroadQ's QCast software. Done. No need for the Prismiq.
