Is there a UK distributor? Preferably an online one. It'd make a great present for my real ale loving friend!

edit: Not really, you'll have to look through the list of resellers I think!

LOL. He's not much of a wine drinker. He'd appreciate the ale - it'd nice if I could find it for Christmas.

Stone Brewing is (in SoCal terms) right down the street. Arrogant Bastard is a heavily hopped strong ale, and if you're interested we could talk about FedExing a six-pack across eight timezones, a continent, and an ocean.

It might be easier to buy a t-shirt or something from the online store.

I gave them (Stone) a call, and the word is that 1. It will be expensive, 2. There is no UK distributor, and 3. Hi-Time Wine Cellars has all of the liscenses and permits to ship legally. Make with the clicky.

Hope this helps out.

From the same brewery, the "Dead Guy Ale" is fantastic. I got a sixer of that stuff a couple of weeks ago and I'd have to say it was one of the best ales I've had. Even people who don't normally like beer liked that stuff.

EDIT: Oh, my bad. Dead Guy Ale is not brewed by Stone Brewing. It's brewed by Rogue Ales.

Rogue Ales has to have the coolest labels for their brews, IMO...
I prefer Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale for my holiday brew, and strangely enough, it's about due to make it's annual appearance!

Among my friends, I'm known as "The Arrogant Oracle". Last year for christmas I got a bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale, and made the mistake of trying to drink it. While the bottle is funny, what's inside is just pure evil. I think it's malted battery acid.

my current bottled faves include two Belhaven brews, "Wee Heavy" and "Scottish" which I missed terribly in NJ but can now get in Austin

I still can't resist NxNW or Lovejoys brew for the locally brewed stuff though.

My best friend used to be a waiter at NxNW. I used to go up there and get hammered on free $50 shots of tequilla. Ahhhh those were the days.

My favorite bar in Austin, though, was the Draught Horse. You gotta like a place that lets you take your beer outside and drink it on your tailgate! God, I miss Austin.
