I'm thinking something like this: But that picture is only a USB/Firewire enclosure. I'm looking for something completely integrated. Ideas anyone? Sounds like it may do the job, but it is rather small and I'd expect it to be tight and hot. On a slight tangent, the Buffalo Terastation is a fair priced NAS device which comes with 4 disks. It runs Linux and can easily be hacked to run some stuff on the side. There is a Wiki. Not sure how well it would work for whatever you're doing though. I've been eyeing one of these to replace my old dual P3 700 server with various old disks in it. The Frys near me has the 1TB units in stock currently on sale, but the 2TB one is sold out.

Mine has a built-in fan and seprate LED leads for each drive. Ooops, I didn't realize the Mashie is a far superoir reference.
