I have to pull my hummingbird feeders inside the house every evening at dusk, or else these little fellows go to work on it. It takes the hummingbirds two or three days to empty this feeder; the bats can do it in two or three minutes.

The amazing thing is, they do it on the fly. The perches are too small for them, so they fly past, dipping their tongues into the feed holes, which are perhaps three millimeters in diameter, as they go by. About the time it starts getting really dark there is a feeding frenzy of bats. Really fascinating to watch.
