Rumor has it Apple might have a 40gb iPod out by Monday. Not sure on prices at the moment on the new iPod, but looks like their lineup will be 20,30 and 40gb.

I’m not really impressed with the ipod anymore, since I heard about and saw the karma

Well they did it. 20 and 40GB announced today. 30GB and 15GB models removed from line up. The Karma is a much nicer unit technically. And feature-wise from a geek standpoint it is too. Is it as clean looking? No. Will it outsell the iPod? Don't think so. I don't know if any single company can catch Apple's iPod. While others come out with product after product, Apple has remained consistent in promoting the iPod. That's why it's sold over 1 million units (Apple stats of course).

I'd still get a Karma of course. I think the future of car players will be in a small portable device. In effect, an "anywhere" player.

I will also buy the Karma, and will support future RIO players as well, but you cant knock the IPOD. It is a very impressive unit technically and physically. Remember, the RIO line of products have always been rather expensive. Its not exactly a bargain compared to the IPOD, even tho its packed with cool features, only the more hardcore and technical users like us will appreciate it. I dont think they will ever capture the #1 at their price point. All that being said.. I cant wait till the Karma comes out, im drooling with cash in hand!

Then after you order, it says "Estimated ship date: Sept. 11, 2003". But I guess that's proabably just adding the 2 days to the date.
