Please help me, I can handle any wired network no problem...but I'm having problems getting my rio receiver to connect to my pc...I've had it working previously, but can't seem to anymore after redoing my pc.
Ok, I have my Rio Receiver(not a dell one but an official) hooked up to my stereo in the den, connected via cat5 to my dlink 713p wap with ethernet switch. My pc, and several others are connected to win2k pro, to my dsl through my linksys router and cat 5. I would like to simply, connect the rio receiver to my pc using the dlink wireless pci card in my pc to the dlink 713p. Rio's audio manager recognizes the receiver but not fully, it is greyed out. I've tried changing my ip address on my wireless card to a bunch of different things to no avail. I connected my receiver directly to my regular nic card via crossover cable and it worked...please help...what are your suggestions.
Jeremy

What was your previous operating system? If it was Windows 98 or so, the software in the box with the Rio Receiver will not work in Windows 2000. You have to use the updated server software. You can find it here:
ftp://ftp.diamondmm.com/pub/multimedia/rio/receiver/

The file you want is mercury_v103.exe

My os has always been 2k, I had a problem with my motherboard...corrosion of all things...but redid the pc with 2 100 gig hd's instead of 2 60's...the mobo has built in ide raid, running raid0, so the harddrives are shown as 1 200 gig, with 4 50 gig partitions...I was thinking...could the problem be that the built in nic on the receiver is 10megs and the wireless is 11, should I lower the wireless connection speed to 5.5 on the wifi nic?

I figured it out, and it makes me sad...I disconnected my receiver, and my wireless acess point, and changed my wifi card to a different pc, but I got it working from about 5 feet, but I guess there is now more interference from my bedroom(where the pc's are) to my den where the stereo is...maybe the new microwave...damn...(I'm hanging my head in shame...I didn't want to, but I'll have to run some more cabling outside the house and drill another hole and create a network jack in the den...oh well.
thanksguys.
