Im going to Install my EMPEG, however a question about power,
Im going to use 8 guage wire direct from the battery to the empeg permanent power wire, Im going to fuse this line with a 3amp glass fuse directly after the battery terminal. Is this FUSE the right type?, it's also going to be covered for protection.
Then I'll just share the ignition switch wire with the other two devices I have, and hook the Empeg's ignition wire to this...is this ok?

Im not an installer, but 8 guage wire is something you would use for your amp, not to power your empeg. I don't think it would break anything, but to be safe, I would use the wires that are aready there for the empeg, and the wiring you install for the other 2 devices. Tony or tanstaafl will be able to answer this more clearly im sure.

The other two units are already installed and are sharing the power wire already there, so I thought I'd run 8 Guage wire from the battery into the car, so I can use that to hook up power to the EMPEG using it's wiring loom, this will be fused with a 3amp glass fuse, don't know if that is the correct fuse and rating though,
but since it says in the manual the EMPEG is fused 3A internally, I'd use the same rating.

Also I thought 8 Guage would be ok, cause looking at all the other wires in there, I would'nt want to run anything thinner, in case of it shorting, or blowing something?

Ok, I've reduced the guage mainly cause it was too thick,
I'm running 12 guage with a weather proof 3amp fuse.

I've also got hold of some strapping, to secure the back of the DIN unit, since most stereo cages are only held in by the tabs you push out. I'll have to drill a couple holes into the mounting cage to secure the back.

A 3 amp fuse will be fine for the Empeg, but if that same wire is powering your amplifiers, it might not be enough. I am powering two amps and the empeg off of my wire-to-the-battery, and I've got a 20-amp fuse in a weatherproof enclosure in that spot.

The cage has a threaded insert in the centre at the back for mounting purposes. If you can use this you won't have to drill any holes in it.

12-gage is plenty heavy enough. 16-gage would do it. There's nothing wrong with wire that's too heavy, that can't hurt anything; it just has to be heavy enough.

Nobody has discussed the location of your fuse, however, and that is important. You want to locate the fuse as close as possible to the battery, and absolutely, definitely between the battery and the firewall. This is because the most likely location for a short is where the wire goes through the firewall. If the fuse is located past the firewall, when the wire shorts there is no protection and the whole wire between the battery and the firewall goes up in smoke, taking other things with it, possibly the whole car.
