I’ve been using Alpha 7 for a few days and I just wanted to know the status on a few things I've noticed on future builds (and also to see if anyone else is getting this):

· Beeps are /still/ gone when I press a button!

· When the unit is paused, it picks up a few seconds later when you unpause it to resume playback.

· After a crossfade, occasionally there will be a 1/2 second blip five or six seconds into the new song (almost like it didn’t have enough of the current song buffered?)

· Crossfading from a song that has been playing only a few seconds dosen’t yeild expected, clean, fading results (again, could this be due to (lack of) song being buffered?)

Also, I’m using emplode 2.10 and I can’t seem to adjust the order of the playlists (Using the “sort by” option). Is there a bug in emplode that is giving me that problem? Can I use version 2.00 (which had no problems re-ordering the playlists)? Or wouild that not work (with the new database structure)?

Other than that, so far, so good!

Thanks!

Joey

Pretty much the only thing emplode 2.10 is good for is loading ogg files. Everything else can be done in emplode 2.0 or you could use jemplode.

Cool. I was able to sort everything proporly with emplode 2.00. Has anyone noticed that with this new alpha everything "sounds" differant again? I was *really* liking the way it sounded with 5... Not so much with 7 (A bit too bassey)

Thanks!

5 had a bug where the stereo bleed feature was stuck on all the time. If you want 7 to sound like 5 again, turn the stereo bleed back on.

And the "beep"?

Broken. Nobody in empeg uses it, so nobody'll have noticed.

Well, I like the beep noise, I use it, and I noticed it.

Well, to fulfill the last constraight you need a job with empeg so you can fix it.

Let us know how that goes.

Well, I'm sure you chaps (when you have the time) will fix it eventually

I did like the beeps too, just because the remote isn't particularly tactile, and when driving, it's nice to get feedback from the empeg telling you that the button press was at least detected. Safer than taking your eyes off the road...

That issue aside, I find a7 very stable and use daily. Not bad for alpha code
