I can load a GIF file fine, but if I try to download or upload the Animation, as soon as I click on the menu item, the window freezes with the menu down and upload or download selected. Nothing happens.

Anyone else see this?

Running most recent download of the sun jvm for windows...

Are you connected to the player properly? For example, when you start Jemplode, does it show you the empeg, and you select it, and it correctly downloads the player's database and shows it on the screen? This step is important, if it doesn't work, nothing else will work.

Also: Jemplode uses Hijack's FTP features to send the animation file to the player. Do you have Hijack installed? What version? Have you perhaps disabled or password-protected the Hijack web or FTP features?

Are you using some kind of a firewall product to protect your computer from network hacks? Such a product might get in the way of FTP transfers in some cases.

Yes. I can connect to the empeg using jemplode v54. Modify playlists, files, settings. Sync. All works.

Yes, hijack is installed. Updated from 374(?) to 380 tonight.

I have Jemplode set to "Use Hijack when possible" as well.

Both the empeg and the laptop are on the same subnet, on the same side of the firewall.

JAnimEdit still locks up as soon as I click on one of the two menu options.

PS - thanks!

How long have you waited after it locks up? Incidentally uploading and downloading animations is not threaded, so it will block the UI thread until it is done (appearing to lockup). However, if you're saying it's locked up for more than like 5 minutes, then that's not right.

I'm seeing this too with jEmplode 54 on both Win2k & Linux (Gentoo)

I can load & view the .gif files and clear the animation on the empeg with no problems, but if I try to upload or download an animation, jEmplode and the jAnimEdit plugin both lock up.

It's been locked for almost 10 minutes now.

If I kill jEmplode during an upload operation, the animation is uploaded to the empeg though, and displays correctly.

My initial thought is that this might be a UI related lockup with modal dialogs (maybe the "upload succeeded" dialog is somehow getting into a deadlock, or is modal but somehow behind the main window or something). I'll play around with it ...
