This is a KNOWN GOOD DISK, built in another empeg and working just fine.

When this drive is transferred to the "broken" empeg, I get the attached bootlog. Any hints as to what the problem could be from the log? The header doesn't have any visibly separated pins, I definitely wouldn't rule it out.

It looks like either a cable or header problem. The cable may be coming apart and just happen to have worked in the other Empeg. I've seen this many times. How long ago did you build the drive in another Empeg? Can you try swapping a know good cable into the Empeg with the problem and see what happens?

Hope this helps,
Stu

Drive was built about 3 minutes before in another empeg. Uploaded music and worked fine. The cable is a replacement cable with fantastic crimps. Tried with another known working cable. Same problem. Tried with another known working drive. Same problem. Looks like it's a header issue.

Sent to Stu and he fixed it up (retouched header) and sent it back fairly quickly. Worked great upon return. Excellent service!
