Hey All, (mark?)

I've been playing with a copied drive (64GB CF -> 32GB CF with < 20GB of music) and on the 32GB system, Emplode doesn't complain at all, but I have a couple of playlists that when clicked on to dive into, the browser (FF v23) gives me an "invalid playlist" pop-up box.

I can still stream the playlist, I just can't dive into it.

I'm using Empeg Car OS v3.00A11 and HiJack v5.05 on this player.

Any thoughts?

(I've also noticed DHCP doesn't seem to play nice with my linux DHCP server. I'll test this some more against v2.xx on my other player though. )

Further characterization information to help Mark:

- Name of playlist, its parent playlists, and the songs within it? For example, does that playlist have any special non-alpha/non-US/URL-unfriendly characters along that branch of the playlist tree?

- Length of the URL that is generated when you click on the link to that playlist?

- What is the URL exactly, character-for-character?

- List all songs in the playlist?

- Does the same error occur in a different browser other than FFv23?

Hi,

the reason for your problem could be bad metadata like in this thread.
If there is some bad metadata you would see a xml parsing error when opening the playlist link in a new window.

You could also perhaps temporarily remove/rename the weblite stuff, and see if Hijack's native playlist browser works.

Removing the index files to use the native playlist viewer/browser works fine in the dirs that were giving me problems...

Stay tuned...

Okay. Now I'm pretty sure that weblite uses Hijack's browser under the hood, except the data gets formatted differently for weblite (xml vs. html).

Most likely there's a "special character" in the metadata that Hijack is not properly "escaping" or something for the xml case.

I did find some funny chars (in the ID3 comment field) - but fixing those didn't work.

So I tried resetting the metadata and that cleared out the problem.

And there you have it.

Thanks!

-Ben
