Hello,

Does somebody know, how can I add in Windows 2000 a Perl application to run as a service. I don't wanna login to this PC to run this perl application (or even, when the Server is rebooting). At the moment I did a shortcut and put this to Startup from Windows 2000(see attachment). But this is not a solution..:-(

I don't have a web server installed on this machine. Somewhere I did read that you can add it to IIS.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help!

Theres a windows utility called 'srvany' that supposed to let you run any program as a NT/windows 2000 Service.
Its part of the Windows Resource kit.

There is also software round like this site which has a trial version that lets you install a single program as a service - the registered version lets you create many services, the trial version only one.

Can't vouch if these will work with your Perl scripts etc, but it may be worth a try.

Hello number6

It works...It did create first a batch file (server.bat) and then build a service with AtYourService!

Thanks again!
