Hrm. Downloads suddenly stopped working in Jemplode. It breezes through while creating 0byte files and just says "failed to download X files"... and in the Reason column is the HTTP path to each fid. I don't think i've changed anything since the last time i downloaded.... any idea what would cause this [Mike]?

EDIT: oo, oo, ooo.... when i uncheck "use hijack when possible" it works. . . so who broke it... Mike or the Lord? =]

Did you recently upgrade Hijack? I seem to recall I had to make a couple changes to some paths to make hijack downloads continue to work with new Hijacks, which means you probably need jEmplode 47 (is it 47 or 48, whatever it is) ...

http://www.inzyme.com/rio/empeg/install.htm

This was billed as "very alpha use at your own risk", but apparently the risk was pretty low because I haven't heard anyone complaining that it hurt their children or burned down their houses. However, if you decide to have children and they become hurt by this release, I still absolve myself of guilt and/or responsibility.

I've been using J47 for almost everything since it went up there - mainly because it works better than emplode for me (with new songs, I mark them if they have foul language so I remember to pop them in a wendy so I can play safely with the kids in the car. When I have enabled the wendy I try to unmark and it doesn't have any effect - I sync and the mark is back. Had a check in bugs and couldn't find it)

Anyway Hijack 347 works fine with Jemplode 47 for up- and downloading, animations, logos, pretty much everything I do. The only thing I miss is the new playlist creation - works a bit more smoothly in emplode, in jemplode I have to ctrl-L, then select, rename and enter to pop into a new playlist; in emplode I just use contect menus on right click.

Yeah, i have the latest hijack. I'm sure it's just a path issue. I didn't upgrade to jEmplode 47/8/whatever yet... was waiting for the official go ahead in an auto update. I'll give it a shot tonight. Thanks!

Yeah, I've been thinking about bringing the playlist UI from RMML over to jEmplode -- it sounds like it's like what you're talking about. I hate the way playlists work on jEmplode.

I'll just use this thread for a little request... Mike... I'm wiping my player and reuploading everything. When i got my import results for about 10 gigs of music, 5 of the tracks weren't uploaded because they were Duplicates. Problem is i have no way of knowing what they are dupes of... i'd like to be able to see the location of the file in the "reason" column when a file is a Dupe just like it does when the file is an unrecognized format so i can track down dupes. Thanks!

Hrm... something else interesting... jEmplode reported those tracks as dupes, but the same exact import in emplode didn't report any dupes...

What version of Emplode are you using? If you're not using the one that goes with 3.0, then I don't believe it actually does global deduping. Doesn't it say the filename in the left column and "Duplicate" in the right? I can't remember exactly because it's been a while ...

So I believe the 3.0 Emplode would catch those as duplicates also ... So back to the original problem, though, so what exactly is the dialog saying vs not saying right now? Does it only show the song title on the left side vs the actual filename or something? Or do you need to know the song it matched as a duplicate of in addition to the imported filename?

It shows the file name, but no reference to where it is in the file tree. If it could show "path/to/songX is a duplicate of path/to/songZ" on the right side...That would rock. Not a big deal, but it would help track down dupes i didn't know i had and don't want.

Ah yes ... getName() on localimportfile just returns the name, not the full path ... should be easy to fix

I have a laptop and a desktop, all versions of jemplode lock my machine up when I exit the application. As in the minute I hit "X" machine stops working.... nothing nada... on both... I'd love to use it but I can't. Unfortunately I have no clue whats causing this, maybe something with java, but if anyone has any clues, please let me know.

Every once in a while there is a video card that has compatibility problems with java ... I would recommend that you make sure you have the latest JVM (www.java.com) and then you can try running
java -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -jar jemplode.jar
rather than running it like you normally do ... unfortunately, you'll take a substantial performance hit doing this -- that causes java to disable all directx acceleration. This at least was the fix that helped the last person who had this problem ...
