Uhm, okay. I'm probably doing something wrong, but don't know where to check.. Heres the deal:

1. First sync with Emplode, and no problems. All playlists, etcported.
2. Sync then with Jemplode41, and it reports: "There is no tune or playlist 272." Hmm, okay, so I sync and 'update' the database.
3. Re-run Emplode, and it dosn't report an error, per se, but in the soup view, there's a Red Plus nexto to the BASE 'Playlist' tree.
4. Sync with Emplode, and re-run Jemplode.
5. Go to step 2; repeat.

There's nothing special, or funny about my playlists, I don't think. In fact, my playlist setup is exactly how I have them on my HD. There's *ONE* "Windows Shortcut" to a song that I have on two different albums; HOWEVER, I think (not sure because previous JEmplodes didn't report the type of error, just that there WAS one) that this was happining before I had that 'soft link' in there.

Any way to see what this 'phantom' FID is, and/or music file?

Me.

jEmplode 41 is the devil. I haven't had time recently with a lot of other things going on to do a final 42 release yet. Look back through the Programming forum for the most recent jEmplode 42 prerelease announcement and try that one.

Interesting..
Tried 42p5, and the FIRST TIME it synced, the "Disconnected Items" section was in red, but there was NOTHIGN in it. Synced it, and then loaded Emplode. Emplode did not find anything strange, so I synced anyways, and re-ran JEmplode, and everything was normal.

Strange. I'm just real cusious as to what happened. (For posterity sake, yanno.) But, yer right, 41 and earleir just didn't like /something/..

Me.

There were a couple tricky problems with reference counting in 41 combined with a some missing error handling routines (Emplode checks/fixes some things that jEmplode wasn't) that caused some really strange problems... I think there's some more info about it in the threads from the first 42 prereleases if you curious. ms

Ah, cool, thanks.
I forgot to thank you in my other little 'thank you' post. So, thanks for a great little (big?) program that, in theory, I could run on a pocketPC with my empeg. :>

We'll stick with "in theory" ... As always, this is left as an exercise for the reader.

Thanks

I tried it once, no love at all. It would be a very good thing though.

I major issue is the amount of RAM and the performance you'll get out of Swing ... The underlying core libraries should actually work. I should give it a shot on the Zaurus and see what happens.

I COULD actually see it as being somewhat useful, say a friend has a single MP3 or so that you want on your player. Run jEmplode on the PocketPC, and integrate/sync that one song.. On the road, like.

Yeah, I thought that memory might have something to do with it. It didn't crash per se, but it never actually did launch either. Perhaps someone on the BBS has one of the souped up aftermarket upgraded 128MB Ipaq's that could try it? Just a thought.
