Just read the FAQ "Can I hook up a steering wheel remote." I'd like to get a reading from folks here on their recommendation as to whether or not I should get the existing factory remote connected (not sure how just yet) or if I should go for the Sony remote (and _where_ exactly does it go on the steering wheel again?).

I really like where the Honda remote is placed, and it's clearly shaped to fit. Thinking of possible scenarios, I can see my wife and I inadvertendly tapping that remote when we should be tapping the Sony remote (even if we remove it - watch, we'll tap thin air- heh-heh).

Thoughts? Comments? Yummy holiday dessert recipes?

As someone who's made an adapter for my factory stalk, I'd say that I'm very happy with it. I get the facilities I'm used to from the factory stereo (volume up/down being the essential one), and while I'm aware that the Sony stalk has more functions, you don't miss what you never had .

BTW, if Sven's reading this, do you want to add some of the stuff I posted to another thread here regarding stalk interface to the write-up on your site and at riocar.org?

Ah, I've just looked, and it has been updated since I last checked. Never mind, except that the image could do with updating to show the shift input, and its URL on ricar.org needs fixing (the space characters in the URL need to be %20).

I should have mentioned before: you might want to add my suggestions for standard resistors to use:

Exactly. You don't miss what you never had. As intrigued as I am by the Sony remote, I'm sure my family will appreciate the relative simplicity of using what they are already comfy with. (Having the new player is new enough - they're blown away with that one, trust me.)

Glad to hear someone's done it though! I'll check it out. Grazie.

I don't promise that the Honda will be as easy to adapt as my Peugeot. But if it is (or if it isn't, and you manage something regardless), this board would love to hear about it.
