I like to avoid tough decissions, such as which of my ~600 CDs to exclude from transfer to Empeg. So, Hugo and others: will new Toshiba 18GB disks be offered in the first batch of MarkII ?

Cheers!

Yes, 18Gb and 36Gb models will be offered - we'll fix pricing nearer the time as drives prices are all over the place at the moment.

It's also likely that we'll have to drop the 4Gb model, as we can't source the drives reliably any more.

Dropping the 4Gig model is not a problem... =)
Believe me, it's far too cramped (I knew this would happen.. =)

And to think we were upset at having to drop the 2Gb drive, just before we started shipping last year! Storage moves quickly, luckily we can move with it!

I knew someone would ask that :-)

The short answer is I don't know - we'll fix the price shortly before we start shipping. It's likely to be a little higher than the current 10Gb/20Gb models.

If you were asking how much the Toshiba drives are (and not the EMPEG with the Toshiba drives), they are around 800$ for a 18GB Toshiba laptop drive.

If you want up-to-the-day prices, check pricewatch. Do a search for Toshiba drives, and look around that price range.. You'll find links to several sites where you can order them online.

If this wasn't what you meant, umm.. Ignore this. ;)
