I searched for it previously and I could not find it. Don't hurt me if it's been discussed previously ;)

One thing that I would really like to do is have the ability to change the in car and in house equalizer settings in emplode. It would be a lot easier for me to type in the frequency and gain, rather then use the remote or buttons on the player to set it. I have looked for a way to do it currently, but I haven't found anything. Does this feature already exist, or does it plan to exist in the fabled 1.1 release?

Thanks!

This has been discussed before and argument against it was that one, of course, has to fiddle with EQ in the target environment. It just occured to me, though, that there's nothing to stop you from connecting a laptop to empeg either in car or at home, so yes, I too think this could be a good idea.

Alternatively, perhaps the player could have a mode where EQ tweeking could be done directly via serial terminal. Hmmm, I can immagine a Palm app which displays a rough approximanion of EQ envelope, and one uses pen to play with it ('OK, now let's make gain on this 4kHz band slightly lower, make it just a tad wider and shift it one notch, err, 100Hz up...') Doug and other serious audiophiles here will know would that be of any real use, but surely it would look mighty cool

Well say that I already have all of the items programmed into the empeg before hand. I know all of the freq's, gain's, and q settings. Well I have them all written down sitting here. And then stupid me goes off and has to reinstall all the software because he fried the player. Well, it would be easier for me to take those settings that I already know and just pop them into emplode and set them up that way.

I think it would be very convenient for those of us that play with our developer images a little too much ^_^;;;

Just a thought.

I agree, but then, ability to actually save EQ settings (indeed, all empeg settings) externally would be even better for that purpose...

Look at this post for a probable solution
Partition hda3 contains all the user settings. It normally isn't affected during an upgrade, so the settings should stay intact. Backup of settings could be handy in case of a disk crash or a harddisk-upgrade.
Just another thought : Someone could create a program which modifies the eq-settings in the partition-file, and have it upload to the empeg, in the same way as Tony's logo-editor...

This is something that has received some thought, although it won't be in 1.1. We also plan to revisit the equaliser UI as it does cause some confusion currently.

Of course! I have totally forgotten about this, and it was only two months ago. I am getting senile...

Thanks!
