Looks like Rob may have been up to something over there at Numark...

Cited as "The Pacemaker: 'world's first' pocket-size pro DJ system" So Rob, is this you?

The article begins with the line: "Watch out, NuMark..".

So this is probably some of the competition.

Quite a lot of the rest of the world seems to be now catching up with the Empeg legacy. Pinnacle Audio were the most recent to catch my eye. (They seem to be a different bunch from the Pinnacle Systems that owns M-Audio, who actually do have ex-Rio people on board.)

That looks really cool, but I wonder if it will have the same terrible hardware and software build quality as so many other small players these days (iPod and, presumably, Vibez not included). I keep stumbling upon cheap junk, making me clutch harder to my empeg.

Not Numark, seems to be a swedish company, Tonium AB.

Of course, there's absolutely no substance to the website... from the stuff you can see, 120GB sounds like a 1.8" HDD, 18h playback and 5h DJ time seem plausible, but how the controller works is left to your imagination...

I suspect this one is more of a teaser for investors than an actual product.
